Description

Local Council Zikhron Ya'aqov (meaning Jacob's memorial) is named after Ya'acov (James) Rothschild, father of the famous Baron Edmond Rothschild. It was established 1882 on Mount Carmel, South of Haifa and has 11,000 inh. In my visit on 3 September 2001, I found out that the Local Council uses its emblem on coloured backgrounds as municipal flags. I noted yellow, light blue, dark blue and orange backgrounds. (...) A small and quite blurred emblem is at this webpage.

Dov Gutterman, 3 September 2001

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 631, 30 October 1958.
