Local Council Shlomi is situated in Western Galilee, 12 km northeast of Nahariya and only a few km from the Lebanese border. It is named after the biblical figure Akhi'ud Ben-Shlomi of the Asher tribe. Pop. 4,500.
During my visit I spotted the municipal flag on the city hall, light blue flag with dark blue emblem. In this image there are unidentified red and white flags, so those colours may be used too. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 875, 7 September 1961. Source: author's own observation, 17 September 2001.
