Local Council Qiriat Eqron (or Kiriat Ekron, named after the biblical town of Eqron) is situated in the centre of Israel, south east to Rehovot near road 40. Between 1954-1961 it was part of R.C. Brener and in 1961 became a local council, first as Kfar Eqron and later with its current name. I was notified by the L.C. that the unofficial flag is white with emblem. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 1813, 23 March 1972. It replaced the previous emblem of the Local Council Kfar Eqron, published YP 968, 25 October 1962. Source: letter from L.C. Qiriat Eqron, 16 September 2001; this website.
