Description

Local Council Modi'in is situated in the middle of the road between Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, north of Highway 1. Established in 1993 as a new city planned to reach a population of 250,000 inh, it now has 12,000 inh. and growing. As many other new settlements (and also some old ones), Modi'in didn't find the colours to represent itself and used various colours [on its flags]. I drew the flag as white with the emblem in natural colours, but I wouldn't be surprised to see only an outlined emblem and the field in different colours. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 4555, 7 August 1997.
