Local Council Kfar Yona (meaning Jonah's village) was named after its founder Yona Fisher. It is situated in the Sharon region, on the road from Netanya to Tul Karem (Palestinian Authority), 7 km East of Netanya. Est. 1932, pop. 9,000.
I spotted two flags in my visit, emblem on red and emblem on light blue. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 633, 13 November 1958. Sources: author's own observation, 6 September 2001; this webpage.
