Local Council Gush Halav (in Arabic Jish) is situated in the Upper Galilee, NW of Zefat and north of Meron Mt. Known from the Roman era with many changes in the population ingredients. Now with 2,500 inh most of them Maronite Christians and the rest Muslims.
In my visit there were no flags on the city hall. I was told that in case of need a white flag with emblem (colour not known) is used. Flag only probable until confirmed. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 1286, 30 June 1966.
