Overview

The city of Pleternica is in the Požega and Slavonia County, 13,000 inhabitants, somewhat less the 4,000 in the town of the same name. Pleternica is situated some 10 km southeast of Pozega at the gates to the Požega valley. acording to the law on local subidivision of 1992 Pleternica was given status of a community, but was raised to the city status in 1997.
The coat of arms of Pleternica is shown on the County web site at <www.pszupanija.hr>: vert an oxen head afrontee or langued gules and ringed sable and in the base two bars argent.
