Oprtalj is a community in central northern part of Istrian
County situated across the river Mirna valley of the much more
reknown city of Motovun, about 20 km northwest of Pazin. The
Italian name Portole is also in use. The community uses the
historical coat of arms, possibly from 14th century, though its
current status is unknown: Azure massoned walls argent issuant
from the base with three closed doors proper and in chief a cross
pattee. There is no flag reported.
