Overview

The city of Novigrad - Cittanova (both Croatian and Italian names are in use as the two city is bilingual) is set some 60 km. north-west of Pula, at the mouth of the Mirna river into the Adriatic. The city uses it's historical coat of arms: argent a saltire gules.
It is in frequent use, including the official site at <www.novigrad-cittanova.com>, however, I have not found any hint that it had been officially aodpted, and therefore no flag to match it either. I suppose that if the city come to it once, it shall have no problems with the Ministry regarding the adoption.
From the abovementioned site it can be seen that the stone carvings with coat of arms of Novigrad are preserved today from at least 14th century, and since at least early 17th century the cross is finally determined to be a saltire thoughout.

Tomislav šipek roported from his personal observation in Novigrad in December 2004 that the coat of arms in actual use is in somewhat different shape then I previously reported. He also witnessed flag to be white with that coat of arms in the middle.

The coat of arms is such as I reported: semicircular. The flag with it too. The "concave" coat of arms is the one used in 1980's with light blue field.
