Overview

Petlovac is a community of some 5000 inhabitants in south-west corner of Baranja, some 30 km east of Osijek. It is a relatively large community by terriroy, which is seen also from the fact that only about 1,000 inhabitants live in the main village landing its name to the community.
On HTV news was shown on 2.11.2003 what is presumably a flag of the community, on a celebration on he occasion of uncovering of a monument in Baranjsko Petrovo Selo. Unfortunately the sightings was far to brief to have any ore detailed info, but this: the flag in ratio 1:2 contains a yellow wide Scandinavian cross (width approximately 1/3 of hoist, forming square fields next to the hoist), the fields formed by the cross are each in its own colour - I have noted them to be (clockwise from canton) red, blue, green and black, though I am far from sure on that order. In the center of the cross is a black rooster (canting the community name) standing on two wavy lines apparently along the entire horisontal bar of the cross.
A nice flag, different from the boring monocoloures, though that may well be the reason why it may be only _de facto_ and not confirmed by the Ministry. We'll have to wait for more info...
