Zlatar is a city in the Krapina-Zagorje County, about 30 km
north of Zagreb and 15 km southeast of Krapina, some 7,500
inhabitants, less the 3,000 in the town itself. (Not to be
confuzed with neighbouring Zlatar-Bistrica.)
The coat of arms of Zlatar is hardly confirmed by the Ministry,
but it is in use nevertheless (road signs, newspapers, tourist
leaflets etc.). The non-confirmation as a rule means that there
is no flag to go with the coa, and the same is true here (most
probably).
The emblem used as coat of arms showes the church in Zlatar with
a crown above and chequy pavement below, all bordered with wide
yellow border including the inscription "GRAD ZLATAR"
in the base.
