The Coat of arms is based on the Coat of arms of the family of Jankovic' von Daruvar, the rulers of the city from at least 16th century. In 18th century they were granted the level of counts (both Hungarian and Austrian).
The flag is light blue with the Coat of arms in the middle.

Crane is canting for the city name that would be if translated from Hungarian mean "Crane-city".
