Gazocéan appears to date from 1957 with Lloyds initially showing it as Gazocéan S.A., which is the current group name, later as Gazocéan Armement which is now Gazocéan Armement et Marima and the main shipping arm, though they also operate through Comargaz Management.
According to Lloyds there was a recovery plan (date not given) which saw 65% of the capital taken up by four shareholders - Furness Withy 22.8%, Compagnie Générale Maritime 22.5%, Gunther Schulz 13.7% and Friedrich A. Detjen (Deutschland) GmbH & Co. 8.03%, with the remaining belonging to existing shareholders of Gaz de France 10%, Delmas-Vieljeux 7.5% and others 14-17%.

The houseflag of Gazocéan is dark blue with a white fish
outlined in black and spitting fire.
The emblem is, according to Loughran (1979), a dolphin and he shows the detail from an official drawing prepared in 1970 and I assume that this dates the flag.
