Most of the sparse information available on Compagnie Rouennaise de Navigation comes from a poster (1912) advertizing the company and showing the ship Félix Faure.
The Félix Faure seems to have been the flagship of the CRN. The ship
was built in Nantes in 1896 and inaugurated in 1898. It was named after
the president of the French Republic Félix Faure (1895-1899).
The Félix Faure was the first propelled steam ship to sail on the
Seine. Like the other paddle ships on the same lines, it made no stop on
ports and the passengers were transported from the ship to the port in
small boats.
The Félix Faure initially linked the ports of Rouen and Le Havre.
According to the 1912 poster, the service was extended to Paris and
leisure cruises were organized. The poster advertizes trips to Rouen and
Le Havre, tickets being sold from the 1 June to the 30 September. The
lower left corner of the poster shows a view of the ports of Le Havre
and Rouen, which were totally destroyed during the Second World War.
I suppose that the CNR did not survice the First World War.
