Presentation of the city

Sangatte is a small sea-resort of c. 3,500 inhabitants, located on the Pas-de-Calais. The city is located close to the French opening of the Channel tunnel.
A camp for illegal immigrants was recently established in Sangatte in 2001 and suppressed in 2002.
