Presentation of the city

Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire is a city of 26,024 inhabitants, located in the south-eastern outskirts of Nantes, on the southern bank of the river Loire. It is now the fifth city of the department by its population. The territory of the municipality covers 1,165 ha, including 180 ha made of islands on the river Loire.
In the XVth century, the city, then called Saint-Sébastien-d'Aigne, was the place of a famous pilgrimage. St. Sébastien was invoked against the black plague.

Description of the flag

The municipal flag of Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire is white with the municipal coat of arms in the middle.
On the coat of arms, the wavy diagonal most probably symbolizes the river Loire, whereas the ermines spots affirm thta the city was part of historical Brittany.
