[Cercle Nautique du Cap Ferret]by Ivan Sache

Cap Ferret (part of the municipality of Lège-Cap-Ferret, c. 5,000 inhabitants) is a sea resort located on the northern side of the bottleneck which links the Basin of Arcachon to the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse of Cap Ferret (rebuilt in 1947, height 52 m, range 50 km) signals the entrance of the Basin of Arcachon. Cap Ferret is also a center of oyster-farming.

The Cercle Nautique du Cap Ferret was founded in 1949. Its burgee is a triangular white flag with a red border all around, a light blue cross and a white diamond with a red border placed over the middle of the cross. The black letters CNF are placed in the diamond.
