on the tv show "south park", the city after which the program is named was facing a flag problem: some people thought they should change the current flag due to some racist undertone in its design. Of course, some people, including the KKK, contested that the flag imagery should be kept since it is part of their history.

The poll that was taken was 2 for the flag, two against the flag, and the rest undecided. This was intended to poke fun at the recent flag debates at the time (South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi).

In the South Park movie there is a war between the U.S. and Canada, and two Canadian actors (Terrance and Phillip, the favorite stars of the kids) are captured and they are going to be executed. The kids make a kind of "underground group" named "La Resistance" to free them.

By the way, the name of one of the Canadian stars: "Terrance" sometimes appears as "Terrence" if you search it on Internet. So I am not sure which one is the correct one.

As "La Résistance" the kids use a flag very similar to the anarcho-sindicalist flags: red and black with the name of the group in white letters. The flag is divided by the diagonal line, but this diagonal is displaced from the corners of the flag.
