Description

According to the Manual del Estado Español (Handbook of the Spanish State, Spanish text only) by Editorial Lama, the historical flag [meaning there is no known adoption date] is purple with the provincial coat-of-arms in the center.

According to the Manual del Estado Español (Handbook of the Spanish State, Spanish text only) by Editorial Lama, the historical coat-of-arms [meaning there is no known adoption date] is described thus:

Consta de cuatro cuarteles:
  1. el de la villa de Agreda, con una cepa o vid con tres racimos, en campo de plata;
  2. el de Almazán, que ostenta una higuera y unas pamelas sobre campo de plata;
  3. escudo de Medinaceli, que muestra a un hombre sobre corcel blanco, con lanza en mano derecha apuntando al sol, sobre campo de azur;
  4. el de Osma, que ostenta un castillo fortaleza sobre campo de gules.
En el centro, sobre el todo y en óvalo, se halla el de Soria con la leyenda en su torno "Soria pura, cabeza de estremadura": un castillo de plata de tres atalayas, sin puente, sobre campo de gules, y en la de homenaje el busto del Rey Alfonso VIII. Bordadura de plata claveteada y, al timbre, corona real cerrada forrada de gules.
