Description

The proportion of the vertical version is not prescribed in the legal text. (...) According to the specification sheet I received from the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania government, vertical flags shall come in two different variants: the Hängeflagge (hanging flag) and the Banner (variant of hanging flag, actually). The Hängeflagge is hoisted on a horizontal flag pole from a building or directly from a window. A Banner contains a cross-bar at the top, on which it is hoisted from a normal vertical flagpole. The difference for Mecklenburg-West Pomerania flags is in the proportions: Hängeflaggen have a proportion of 2:1, but can be longer, e.g. 5:2; Banner shall usually be 10:3. This difference seems a bit artificial, as I have seen longer Hängeflaggen and shorter Banner as well, in many instances (not Mecklenburg-West Pomerania flags, though). So I send two variants of the vertical flags: the Hängeflagge in 2:1 and the Banner in 10:3.
