Blesk Rowing Club, the first sports club adopting a flag in 1876. Three
times cranked thunderbolt recalls the name of this club while a yellow
hand holding a paddle in the same color symbolizes its main branch of sport

Ceský Yacht Klub - Czech Yacht Club - a white burgee with a blue
cross; a red canton charged with the white Bohemian double-tailed lion
rampant. After image at this website;
the club was founded in 1893 by Josef Rössler-Ořovský. It is thanks to
him, that the Czech delegation competed in the Games as a recognised state
even before independence was declared in 1918. The CYK originated in the
Blesk club.
