The flag war granted in 1995 and the decree is from 1996. So, the material
I saw, was a little different. The word description of the flag basically
suits to both picture. But, because Olomouc has a decree, the new picture
is accurate.

The Flag of the Town is a blue field with chequy Eagle displayed Argent
and Gules, crowned and membered Or, langued Gules, taking the half of the
lenght of the field, in the centre of field. Near the flagpole are yellow
"maiuscule" letters S and Q, in the fly similar letters P and O, placed
one below the other. Ratio of the field is 2:3 (Public notice Nr.25/1996
- The City Statute, Article Nr. 6) - It is a banner of arms. I can confirm
it, as I saw it above the main entrance to the City Hall.

Olomouc (German: Olmütz) on Morava River, about 60 km northwest of Brno,
has 104.000 inhabitants. Possibly originated as Roman fort; made bishopric
1063; ceded to Hungary 1478 and capital of Moravia until c. 1640. besieged
by Prussians 1758; scene of Conference of Olmütz 1850, at which Prussia
yielded to Austrian demands that she abstain from seeking leadership among
German states.
