Jesenik nad Odrou flag

This town is east of Olomouce in eastern Czechia, on the Oder river. Its flag, adopted 8 Mar 1998, and CoA are here. The village was founded in 1350. By 1945 there were much more people of German nationality living in the village. The only exception was the local settlement, Hůrka, which was Czech. In 1945 the village became the border village. After World War II people from other parts of the country moved there. This village is a part of the territory named Kravařsko (Kuhlanden). The village was in Moravia. To the north of the village there was a historical border between Moravia and Silesia. The flag was adopted 19 Feb 1998.

Contemporary village heraldry results from the oldest village seals from 1768. There is visible a four-leaf rose and footstalk with two leafs on the seals. It is assumed relationship between the symbol of rose with symbol of the Virgin Mary Assumpted to whom the local church sacrificed is. The heraldry is made up by silver shield where the silver color symbolizes sky, air. A dominant of heraldry is figure of red four-leaf rose in a graphic transcript that results from appearance of rose on the seals. Compared to two original leafs there are four green small leafs in the heraldry symbolizing four integrated villages. The lower part of the shield is horizontally broken with blue wavy line symbolizing the river Odra. Odra is part of the name of village - Jeseník nad Odrou.

From the village heraldry results and is educed a village ensign: It is made up by four vertical strips that are lined according to colors so which the succession of colours in the direction from down to up is: white / it replaces in the heraldry silver color/, blue; green, red. Strips are of the same width. Proportion of height to width is 2:3. An author of the lay-out is designer Jan Zemánek from Nový Jičín. Village symbols were approved by the Committee of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and festively presented to representatives of the village by the then Parliament chairman ing. Miloš Zeman on 9th March 1998.
