City flag

This city is now part of Longueuil. I saw this flag in the Fall of 2000. The mural crown on the shield symbolizes the fact that this is a city. The fleur-de-lys represents the French-origin population, the rose the English-origin population. The hunting horn reminds us of Lambert Closse, hero of the 17th century French pioneers who hunted, it is said, in the area's wetlands. The ship symbolizes the geographical location of Saint-Lambert, on the shores of the St Lawrence. The motto "Maximus in minimis" means 'to show greatness in the infinitely small details'. I am uncertain of the lettering's details.
