This is the Flag of Goderich Ontario, Canada.

I'm not sure if the Blue is suggests of the water of Lake Huron or not, but the town square isn't square it's an octagonal shape as seen here. The White waving lines at the bottom may be represent the Lake as well.
Dan Fairbanks - 27 April 1999

The blue in the flag does represent the waters of Lake Huron but also signifies the port of Goderich.

The flag was adopted in 1977 for Goderich's 125th birthday.

The significance of the octagon is the courthouse square (which is really an octagon). It's a full 1/4 mile around, one way and 3 lanes wide. This was the town's main business section with easy access to all stores.

There was a contest to design the flag which was open to all the schools and town people. The winner and designer was Judge Carter of Wilson Street, Goderich,
