Unequal triband of dark maroon, white and dark maroon (might be black instead) charged on the white area with a local badge. This badge is coat-of-arms-like and can be blazoned as "tercied per mantel vert, vert and sable, a pall azure over all; on the I, a moose head argent, on the II a mountain avens. on the III a spruce, chief wavy azure over argent per dancety; as crest a beaver proper; motto 'Village of Fort Simpson' on yellow 'scroll'".

Fort Simpson, with a population of 1257 (as of 1996), was formerly called by the traditional name of Liidli Koe (meaning "place where rivers come together" -- canting), is located at 61°51'N lat. and 121°22'W long., on the upper course of the Mackenzie river. Local languages are South Slavey and English, and the community belongs to the electoral district of Nahendeh and to land claim area of Deh Cho Treaty 11.
