About the Flag of Concórdia

The flag consists of vertical red and green stripes with a white lozenge on the center bearing the municipal coat of arms (the silver and gold on the arms being replaced by white and yellow. The coat of arms is divided into three fields: the first quarter red with a white sitting dove holding a lily in its beak (for peace), the second quarter green with Mercury's winged hat and a cogwheel (for commerce and industry), and the base blue with the Southern Cross (symbol of the nation) above three barrulets wavy representing the Rio Uruguai, which forms the boundary of the state of Santa Catarina with Rio Grande do Sul. The shield is flanked by two stalks of wheat and, above the scroll inscribed with the name of the municipality, three ears of corn.
