About the Flag of Lajinha

The flag of Lajinha was adopted by law no. 209/59. The flag is described as two rectangles, one green and one red, with a vertical white stripe separating them. The green and red represent coffee (leaves and beans respectively), the traditional source of Lajinha's wealth, while the white represents peace. In the upper hoist is a red terrestrial globe, marked with lines indicating meridians, the equator, the polar circles, and the tropics; on the center a map of Brazil in white with Minas Gerais in red. The location of Lajinha is indicated with a tiny representation of Pedra Torta, a local tourist attraction. The motto, Gloria partis, gloria omnis, is interpreted to mean that what serves the glory of Lajinha also serves the glory of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and even the world.
