The state ensign is a white, green, red horizontal tricolor with a square red canton charged with a yellow lion rampant. The canton is half the width of the flag so it covers half of the green stripe.

Same as 1913 except below the canton is another square, white with a green saltire.

The flag described as the Bulgarian Flag of 1941 is called the "Flag of the War Minister" by the Flaggenbuch.
