A photo of the flag of Electrical Trades Union of
Australia is shown at the ETU shop.
Valentin Poposki, 15 December 2005
This flag features the ETU logo, which has a blue background, with the letters ETU in white and the slogan "Proud to be Union" in smaller letters beneath it. a gold lightning strike is visible behind the T. As has been observed already, the flag also features a small Eureka flag in the canton.
As well as this photo of a flag for sale, you can see flags being flown at a rally at this page. The flags in the two photos differ in that the flags at the rally have san serif, rather than serif letters, and have a white fimbriation around the Eureka flag. The flag at the shop seems to also feature more very small white text at the bottom. The image above is based on the flags at the rally.
Here is an article from
Brisbane's The Courier Mail talking about an incident where ETU members in
Pinjarra, Western Australia went on strike because their employer removed
an ETU flag. It also mentions a campaign involving union shirts and
jumpers. Many of these can be seen at the shop website, and many have the
Eureka flag on the chest or shoulder, providing more example of the use of
this flag by the Union movement in Australia.
